We did the quad bike tour through the forest and mountain. It was awesome. Would definitely recommend!

Our stay at Sundown Country Estate was lovely. The staff is particularly friendly and helpful. The food was top notch! The room was very clean and comfortable, although it was old fashioned, it was still comfortable. The pool and pool bar was a winner. It was extremely clean and very comfortable. The new owners are very pleasant, friendly people and are busy making major improvements to the estate. I hope to be able to take a break there soon.
Stayed one night before my bike race at Sun City. Was pleasantly surprised when staff offered to give a breakfast pack as I had to leave early. Room was clean, big and comfortable, I went to bed early with no disturbance.
Biggest issue was slow restaurant service. Did not even have breakfast on last morning. Was also told that the lady who made an error was going to be charged the difference. I felt bad so ended up paying it in anyway.
The carpets are dirty and the rooms are not aesthetically pleasing. The family rooms are open-plan. These rooms must be demarcated for privacy.
The rooms where very clean. The pregnant lady with the short hair at the restaurant was extra friendly and very helpful. The receptionist unfortunately not friendly and very slow, I felt like I could do their work for them. 70% of the time there was no electricity that was annoying. I personally wouldn't go back there.
We had a very nice stay and ate very, very well. Pool also thoroughly enjoyed.

After I made my reservation, a number of people commented about the place, and that they would not stay there. Well, I immediately sent them photos to prove them wrong. The room is beautiful and I slept very well. Yes, the building is old and could use some love and attention here and there, but overall I really can't fault it.
We stayed one night after enjoying the NGC2019 at Sun City. The hotel and rooms are generally clean, tidy and comfortable. The price is very reasonable. We enjoyed the buffet in the evening - the variety was good. We would only recommend that the meat is not overcooked and dried. The breakfast the next morning was fresh and tasty.

There were no lights at the pool at night and our room had ants.
It was just for one day, but great service indeed, compliments to staff members they really know how to threat their customers, very clean apartment.
At reception there was no one to help us, we stood waiting for 10 min. Bar area there was no one. Furthermore, the food was delicious. Restaurant was great with good service.
Sundown Ranch Hotel is a very need hotel and the staff are friendly. Value for money. It is a bit dangerous at night, the roads are very busy, and if you don't know the place you wont find the hotel because there is no board indicating the turn off to the Hotel.
Near Sun City that made it easy to attend the golf. Clean room, had to ask for towels. Bar has a snooker table. Group of local people made noise, listened music while watching rugby. Just after 5 in the morning, the hotel staff woke us up with their talking next to our room.

I can see there are some improvements being done at the hotel which is great, more is needed though especially in the shower - shower head, soap holders, etc. Staff very friendly - must keep it up!
We could book early. We were safe, the pools are clean and inviting.
Compliments to the chef, we enjoyed her food. The beds were so comfortable we really enjoyed our stay. We are definitely coming back.

We had a nice stay at the hotel. Rugby was on the big screen to enjoy after a long day in the Kruger. Room was clean and neat. Food was delicious. Will go back for their hamburgers. Thank you, Sundown Ranch.
Rooms are so old and outdated. These TVs should be in a museum. Passages leading to the rooms have a terrible odors. Will definitely not go back.
Only issue had was that breakfast menu does not cater to all dietary requirements (example: if one does not eat pork (bacon) what do you eat?) All that was available was baked beans and mash. No mention was made of being able to have eggs first morning, self service breakfast. Menu needs to change / be enhanced. Bathroom shower, water pressure too high.
Unclear about facilities and does not accommodate guests.
They treated us with care and their food was also nice. However, the linen they used was brown and it had dust on. Hence, I could not sleep because of sinus caused by the dust. They must start using white bedding as we can see if it's dirty.

No internet in the rooms.
This can be a nice place for holiday only if the shower system can be attended to. We were lucky to visit during summertime. I don't want to imagine how it would be like taking cold shower on a middle of winter morning. No complaints at all about the restaurant, food was great.
Reception staff were very helpful and nice but one of the domestic workers was unfriendly to us. Only one odd person does not mean the whole team were like that. The service is more personalised and if you do not complain they will take advantage of you. To get a good service you have to complain which is the only disappointing thing.
The breakfast on offer was absolutely great and staff is friendly. Pool area is great and rooms going out into the gardens very convenient. The hotel itself is very old and probably in need of an upgrade (especially the bathrooms) but overall a comfortable experience.

Very friendly and helpful staff that went out of their way. While the hotel and rooms were very clean, the hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade as to the finishes. It felt like something out of the 70s.

The hotel is an older hotel. I found my room to be very neat and clean. Only 10 km from Sun City. It is ideal. Great value for money and so long as you understand that you are paying half the price of any other hotel that close to Sun City, you won't be disappointed. I found the staff fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely use them again.
Me and a Swiss friend booked 2 rooms. No water pressure in his shower or basin. When I showered I struggled to fix the water temperature, never managed to. Therefore I chose to take a bath, which I enjoyed, only to discover that it was leaking when I got out and stepped in a puddle of water. I had to keep the toilet door permanently closed to block out the toilet noise as the water didn't stop running (what a waste of water!|). A Bluetooth speaker disappeared from my bag. Laid a complaint but yes, of course they wouldn't acknowledge if there is no proof. No cameras. After that I decided to clean the room myself, as I didn't want to travel with my bag all day.

The hotel outside needs a lot of renovation, inside the hotel it is very old and also needs renovation, our room we had was very clean and nice (looks like there is only one modern room) remote for TV was not available, workers were very friendly (probably the best, friendliest service I have ever received at a hotel), food is well priced and value for money. For R1220.00 per night it was worth it, but I would not stay there again.
The hotel is tired and in need of renovation. Nevertheless, everything was clean and tidy. The food was of very good quality and you can't complain about that. I wouldn't go home there again until the place is renovated.

The facility needs to be upgraded. The rate is too high for the facility. The dinner and breakfast was great. 10 out of 10 for the restaurant staff.
The TV did not work and the toilet made a noise, also when other people turned on their taps, there as a screeching noise which was very disruptive, especially when you are trying to sleep.
The roof of the room we slept in was licking and apparently there's nothing they can do about it. We got one room with 3 beds for 3 adults and 2 kids. Who does that really!
Definitely not 4 star - the location is the only positive thing en yes its clean, but for R1600 per night the place is decrepit and old. Will not recommend it. The remotes of the air con and the TV did not work. The bathroom is old and the toilet leaks. The questions you ask to determine the rating are not accurate.
The Sundown Ranch Hotel is very neat and good value for your money. The service was very good and the room was neat. Our stay was short, but we will be going there again shortly.
Guests made a lot of noise through the night - it bothered us a lot until 3 am.
Good: The food was amazing! Peace of mind, staff is friendly, service is excellent and the fact that you have security guards around made us feel safe. The place is in close proximity with SunCity, that is good. Bad: You do not have fridges, to store our cold beverages as well as food that would be left over as you can imagine the place is hot during the day. The fact that cars are parked outside and not in the shade is very bad. The furniture, though old which we appreciate, but it needs to be comfortable as well. Improve: Please have tents for the cars. Consider having bar fridges as that will make the guests more happier.

Although the hotel needs some renovation because the building is getting old, we really enjoyed our holiday. The hotel is close to Sun City. Food was superb, the staff is very friendly and most of all the booking was very easy and quickly.
The hotel aircons were not working in some of the rooms that we booked, and the temperature ranged between 36 - 40 °C. We had to open windows the whole night. We had no control over the aircons. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and the rooms were cleaned daily. The first dinner was a disaster, the chicken was raw, so the chicken and prawn curry was a disaster and we did not eat the food. On the third dinner we waited for 45 min without getting a starter, after which we decided to take the food as take aways. I had included the dinner in my booking which amounts to +-R190 per person and at the dinner I was told that I could only use it for food and not drinks. The next day I cancelled the dinner and demanded monies back, after a long fight with the manager the money was refunded and I had an option of buying dinner at the hotel or getting it somewhere else. Breakfast was excellent for the duration of my stay. The food was nicely prepared and I could eat and drink without any extras expected to be paid from me. The furniture is very old: torn chairs and the bed made a funny noise, old mattresses which were not so comfortable. The swimming pool was well maintained daily, the kids could spend time playing. Beautiful setup around the pool and bar area. The garden is clean and the staff are friendly. General comment: don't stay at the hotel for too long, only book B&B. The hotel is situated very close to Sun City and has easy access to the main road.
The only complaint we have is that the staff at the restaurant and breakfast needs to be a bit more friendly. The cleaning staff was very friendly. The maintenance guys too was very friendly.
The hotel is affordable, the food is great but it needs a new menu. Renovation is needed, they also need more swimming pools, but the service is excellent. The rooms are big, but the TV and bathrooms need renovating.

The staff was friendly. The service during dinner was bad. I also think you need to put a board (with lights) that is visible for people to see from the highway especially at night. It is easier to miss the hotel when you are driving. This was the case when I slept there few years back and no improvement.

We found it very welcoming and even made special arrangements to reserve dinner for us, as we were arriving around 10pm. The place is very peaceful, where one can relax, read and go for morning or evening walks.
I stayed here during my son's cricket tour (at the sports school), the overnight facilities were neat, and I definitely recommend the restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

We stayed at Sundown Ranch for a weekend and it was a mixed experience. The positives: The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is also very clean and garden well maintained by the pool area. Reception made sure our trailer with production decor was safe for the weekend and went out of their way to reassure us that it would be taken care of. The restaurant's food quality is good enough with an acceptable variety. There is a bar with a big screen to watch sports. There is a large swimming pool for the children. But, the negative: On the first night I had to call reception 3 times to sort out things like the TV remote control, enough towels and coffee. On the second day I just left it - not much attention is paid to basic detail. The hotel is old and furniture etc. needs attention The TV channels are limited, especially if you have children. If it's cold and the kids can't swim, there's nothing else for them to do either. No climbing frames or other play area. Reception told us that we are not allowed to use the tennis/netball courts as they are for the school groups. General: If you want to spend the night near Sun City, but won't be at the hotel much time, then Sundown Ranch is probably not a bad choice. Just be moderate with your expectations and you will be satisfied.
You can put more coffee in the rooms. Food at restaurant was very good, the service was also good and staff were were friendly.
It was wonderful. Wow, don’t even talk about the food – it was above average and I would recommend Sundown Ranch Hotel to anybody and everybody as its rates are excellent. We had a great stay.
There was also no water in the rooms. The corridors are dirty. The rooms were dirty and linen was old and torn. Rooms are very outdated. There was no hot water when the water was restored. Breakfast was disappointing.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay. Staff members very friendly and professional. Just few things to bring to management's attention.we checked in at 16:00 but the room was given to us had a smoky smell lingering in it. We noticed couple of spiders by the main passage which is an indication of lack of pest control. Other than that the service was superb and the booking was very easy to make.

The place is well located for overnight stay if you are visiting Sun CIty. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Basically, for a value for money sleep over, it is fine. Breakfast was great. However, there is an underlying smell which gives the feeling of the hotel being dirty - but admittedly it was clean. Think it's just that the hotel is getting old.
Overall everything is good here. Friendly staff and the hotel was clean. Just think they must work faster in the restaurants on the cooking and serving of foods as we waited too long our food to arrive.

Friendly and helpful staff, great value for your money and ideal location for your visit to Sun city or the Pilansberg Game Reserve. Booking process also needs to be complimented. Facility needs a little but of renovation but otherwise clean and functional.
Had a very nice stay, food was lovely. We love to go to Sun City and this is very close - 10 km. We stayed in a family room, only two things we didn't like - air-con was squeaking and the shower head was not flowing to full capacity. Must add we only slept there, during the days we were out. We got a 70's feeling of the hotel - if you are the modern guy this will definitely be something to adapt to.
The hotel staff are very friendly and the room and hotel it is kept clean but the building needs renovations and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Proximity to Sun City & other attractions is great and it was easy to find but they really need to renovate or at least get new beds. I wouldn't recommend it to friends because there are other hotels on the same road that are most probably more modern with better facilities at the same price.
Experience was good. However, even though its a 3 star by TGCSA, the layout isn't fantastic - but the atmosphere and hospitality was super! The food was divine and that to us is the most important thing.
Welcome very good, food very good, rooms clean but smelled of smoke, and the bathrooms to me felt old and not very clean.
